“What is the minimum deposit?” is usually the first question a new trader asks. The answer is often a headline number on the broker’s home page, but the real minimum depends on the account type. We collected the figures for the brokers we cover, checked them on the brokers’ own account pages where we could, and marked clearly where we could not.

Valetax and HFM
Valetax says you can start from 8 USD on its Cent account, and lists six account types (Cent, Standard, ECN, Booster, Bonus and PRO) with leverage up to 1:2000. For HFM, independent reviews report no minimum deposit on the Cent, Premium and Zero accounts and 100 USD on the Pro account; we could not confirm this on HFM’s site. More important than the deposit is who holds your money: read our Valetax licence check and HFM licence check first.
What can you really do with 10 USD?
A low minimum deposit gets you in, but risk management decides how long you stay. With 10 USD and a 1% risk per trade, you can lose 0.10 USD per trade. On a standard account the smallest EUR/USD position (0.01 lot) moves about 0.10 USD per pip, so your stop could only be 1 pip away, which is not realistic. On a cent account, 0.01 lot moves about 0.001 USD per pip, so the same 0.10 USD allows a 100-pip stop. That is why small accounts belong on cent accounts. A low minimum deposit is not a sign of safety
- The lowest deposits and highest leverage usually come from offshore companies with little or no investor protection.
- Check which company will hold your account and whether its licence is on a regulator’s register; our guide on how to check a broker’s regulation shows how.
- Make a small test withdrawal soon after your first deposit, before you add more money.
